Description

Wine

Made from Grecanico grapes on the slopes of Mount Etna at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level on mineral volcanic soils, “Incanto” sports a straw yellow colour with a greenish rim.

Eclectic, dry, fresh and with balanced vegetal sensations, minerality and hints of citrus.

The Grape

Grecanico, also known as Garganega, is the primary grape variety used in the production of Grecanico dell’Etna. This grape variety is also used in the production of Soave wines in northern Italy and is known for its fresh and aromatic qualities.

The Region

The Grecanico dell’Etna wine is produced on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, which is Europe’s most active volcano and located in the northeastern part of Sicily. The volcanic soil and unique microclimates contribute to the distinctiveness of the wines produced in this region.

Terroir

The volcanic soils of Mount Etna are rich in minerals, which can impart unique flavors and minerality to the wines. Additionally, the varying elevations and exposures on the slopes of the volcano contribute to the complexity and diversity of the Grecanico dell’Etna wines.

Vinification

Hand harvested at the beginning of November in small 10kg crates, the grapes go through a careful selection before a cold maceration for 18 hours at 6 degrees takes place. The must will be gently pressed and fermented. Aged for 3 months in barriques and a further 3 months in stainless steel vats.

Food Suggestions

“Incanto” is a great white wine to pair with great fish dishes, white meats and fresh cheeses.
