Description

Wine

Fritz Waßmer’s Sauvignon Blanc smells invitingly of cassis, gooseberry and elderberry, a refreshing, animating bouquet. Invigorating and racy, the first sip of this wine makes you want more. A versatile food companion, but also a real treat on its own. Exciting with striking acidity and powerful body makes this wine a hearty thirst quencher. On the palate; passion fruit, citrus fruits and a touch of grapefruit peel as well as minerally salty notes & green herbs. Dry, without being sour, the palate is aromatic and straightforward.

Region

Baden is situated in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, bordering France to the west and Switzerland to the south. It stretches from the northern part of the Black Forest to the northern outskirts of the city of Basel.

Baden is known for its vibrant wine culture, and various wine festivals and events take place throughout the year. These festivals provide an excellent opportunity for locals and visitors alike to taste and enjoy the region’s wines.

Climate & Terroir

The region benefits from a relatively mild climate, thanks to its proximity to the Rhine River and the shelter provided by the Black Forest to the east. The diverse terroir of the region, including various soil types and microclimates, allows for the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties.

Estate Wine Range

Estate wines are wines produced from grapes grown on the winery’s own vineyards. This means that the winery has control over the entire winemaking process, from grape cultivation to the final bottling. Estate wines often reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyard’s terroir, climate, and specific grape varieties.

Ideal drinking temperature 8 °C.
