Frosts and hailstorms in April, were responsible for a 20% lower harvest than the long-term average. Luckily the weather was dry in the last two weeks before harvest. The mild weather with its typical cold nights helped the grapes to fully ripen but also retaining acidity and its aromas. Grapes were hand picked, with maceration for up to 24 hours and spontaneous fermentation. 60% aged in 500 litres tonneaux barrels with 40% in stainless steel and left for an extended yeast contact. This is a fresh wine, with a pale golden yellow colour, a nutty character combined with some smoke and clear citrus aromas. On the palate it’s elegant, mineral and with a creamy finish.
