“Typical of our Grüner Veltliner is its distinctive, fruity bouquet of green apples, exotic nuances on the nose and palate. Delicate citrus notes, juicy fruit on the palate, crisp acidity, peppery spiciness, juicy, fresh & invigorating”

Region

Grapes are coming from the regional vineyards in Carnuntum with red gravel and nutritious loess with some gravel soils. Carnuntum is a wine region located in eastern Austria, near the city of Vienna. It is known for its long history of winemaking, even dating back to the time of the ancient Romans. The region takes its name from the ancient Roman city of Carnuntum, which was an important military and trading center during the Roman Empire.

Carnuntum is situated on the southern banks of the Danube River, where the climate is influenced by the river and the nearby Pannonian Plain. The region has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, and the vineyards are protected by the nearby Leitha Mountains, which help create a favorable microclimate for grape cultivation.

Vineyard

The meso climate found here benefits from the influence of Lake Neusiedl, the warm Pannonian plain and the nearby Danube. The cool winds from the northern Danube and the low temperatures at night allow white wines to mature with a very distinctive, fragrant aroma and crisp acidity. Grüner Veltliner is not a prominent grape variety grown in the Carnuntum wine region. It is known for its signature spicy and peppery flavors, as well as its high acidity and versatility. It is the most widely planted grape variety in Austria and is highly regarded for producing exceptional white wines.
