Description
Wine
“I left this wine completely to its own devices – no plan, no specifications. I simply followed the needs of the grapes and the wine completely wildly and with a lot of love. No more and no less” – Christina Netzl
The painting of the same name for this bottle is by Iris Marisa Neuner.
Region
Carnuntum is a wine region located in eastern Austria, near the city of Vienna. It is known for its long history of winemaking, even dating back to the time of the ancient Romans. The region takes its name from the ancient Roman city of Carnuntum, which was an important military and trading center during the Roman Empire.
Vinification
A blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc & Welschriesling on gravel & gravely loess soil. Fermentation on the skins in open fermenters followed by a maceration of 3 weeks. Aged for 6 months in old barrels. Bottled unfiltered & unfined. It’s aroma which is quite wild at first comes out of the glass & after it settles makes room for intense, exotic fruit nuances, herbal spices & some nutty notes, fresh biscuit & with an exciting tannic backbone interrupting the juicy fruit. Extremely long lasting & complex.
Enjoy with lots of spice & cheese.
Ideal drinking temperature 8 °C.
