Yecla DO
The Yecla Denominación de Origen (DO) is a wine-producing region located in the southeast of Spain, in the province of Murcia. This DO is known for its wine production, particularly red wines, and it has gained recognition for the quality of its wines.
The predominant grape variety in the Yecla DO is Monastrell (also known as Mourvèdre), which thrives in the region’s hot and dry climate. Monastrell wines are rich, full-bodied, and often characterized by dark fruit flavors.
Coming from Mediterranean-continentalized climate with very cold winters, and extremely hot summers planted on limestone soil, with a thick subsoil with the presence of carbonates and a sandy surface with clay formations which are poor in organic matter but quite healthy and permeable.
Vinification
Manual harvest, in 20 kg boxes, intended to take care of the integrity of each grape, preventing it from being damaged. Once harvested the grapes are subjected to a light pressing that gives this wine its characteristic salmon colour and fresh aromas. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged on its lees for around 4 months.
Wine
Nose is delicate and floral but also with a herbaceous hint along with some faint strawberry & cherry notes. On the palate the wine is crisp, well rounded fruity notes, good acidity and a satisfying finish. Certified Vegan.
Ideal serving temperature 10ºC.
