Timotheus’s second wife and Winifred’s stepmother. An easy-going and somewhat voluptuous lady, she first found the love of her life at a slightly older age. Shaped by her tempestuous youth, she is an unconventional type that radiates vitality and enjoys life to the fullest. She feels most at home in company, is open to strangers, and rewards friends with deep insights into her innermost qualities.

Josephine is loved for her individual personality, her southern temper and northern dry wit. She always cheers us up, bright and playful yet warm and caring. Happy to please, but also ready to take us to unexpected places. Her character reflects the vineyards where she grew up, bathed in the warmth of the sun, tempered by the purity and freshness of limestone.

The dry heat of 2021 challenged her at times. But some refreshing nights in August cooled her down in a delightful way. She is a free spirit, unable to be contained. Region

The Burgenland wine region is located in eastern Austria, bordering Hungary to the east. It is one of Austria’s leading wine-producing areas and is known for its diverse range of high-quality wines. The region is characterized by a continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters, and a variety of soil types that contribute to the unique terroir of the wines produced there.

It also has a rich history and has made significant strides in improving the quality of its wines in recent years. The region’s commitment to sustainable and innovative winemaking practices has garnered international recognition for its unique and exceptional wines.

Vinification

Grapes are hand harvested and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in used 500, 1000 and 1500-liter barrels. The wine goes through elevage in 500-liter barrels for about 8 months, with no batonnage. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero addition of sulfur.

Ideal drinking temperature 14 °C.

Craziness:
