Schneider

Markus Schneider from Ellerstadt in the Palatinate region
is today one of the most famous winegrowers in Germany. Less than 25 years ago, his father delivered the little bit of red and white wine he had to the cooperative society. Today, almost 100 hectares of vineyards are turned into red, white, rosé and sparkling wine in the
Markus Schneider winery.

Blanc de Blanc Vintage

For the BLANC DE BLANCS VINTAGE, only grapes from Chardonnay grape selections from Champagne were harvested by hand in our mountain locations. After the first fermentation in barrels of various sizes that had been aged for several years, a classic second fermentation in the bottle followed.

After the first fermentation in perennial barrels of various formats, a classic second fermentation followed in the bottle with a storage contact of 34 months.

Pleasant astringency supported by the wood barrel ageing, animating acidity structure. This sparkling wine manages without any addition of dosage and instead impresses with a calm, self-confident character. Certified vegan.

Region

The Pfalz (also known as the Palatinate) wine region is one of Germany’s largest and most celebrated wine-producing areas. Located in southwestern Germany, the Pfalz stretches along the eastern edge of the Haardt Mountains, a continuation of the Vosges Mountains from France, which provides an ideal microclimate for viticulture. The region benefits from a sunny, mild climate that helps produce ripe, full-bodied wines, particularly known for their richness and approachability.

Climate & Terroir

The Pfalz has one of the warmest climates in Germany, with nearly 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. This allows grapes to achieve full ripeness, producing wines that are often richer, more fruit-forward, and higher in alcohol than those from other German regions. The soils in the Pfalz vary widely, from sandstone and limestone to clay, gravel, and loess. This diversity allows winemakers to cultivate a variety of grape types suited to different soil compositions.

Ideal drinking temperature 10° Celsius.
