Description
Volpolo 2021
Volpolo, is the winery’s second label, it’s a Bolgheri DOC, & remaining as such to maintain the designation’s high value. This blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot is a very lively Tuscan red with great intensity, precision and longevity.
A very fresh and enticing nose of bright blueberries, newly picked blackcurrants, crushed stones, pressed violets, dried sage, ash and cedar. Full-bodied and ever so tight with firm, polished tannins punctuated by vibrant acidity. Long and taut on the finish.
Manual harvest and grape selection are followed by a long maceration and then fermentation in controlled temperature stainless steel tanks. The wine ages in French oak barriques and tonneaux for 14 months. Followed by 6 months of bottle refinement prior release. Certified organic.
Obli’ 2019
This wine shows an intense ruby red color with violet and garnet reflections. Nose is floral, intense with wide hints of plum, blackberries and wood spices. Well structured, harmonious, persistent on the palate, and it is characterized by a never intrusive tannin, which accompanies it towards a beautiful finish, with a clear Mediterranean mark.
Harvested and vinified individually between late August and mid-October the grapes are cold macerated for 10 days prior fermentation. Aged for 18 months in used oak barrels and 9 months in bottle prior release.
Le Domeniche di Teo 2021
The grapes were left in pre-fermentative maceration for
2 days and, once alcoholic fermentation
with only indigenous yeast was complete, post-fermentation maceration
was carried out for approximately 2 months including spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Once racked,
the wine remained on the fine lees with continuous
batonnage until June, after which it was put on clean
lees and bottled in September 2022. Fermentation in 25
hectolitres cement vats, final three months of ageing in 10 hectolitres stainless steel containers. At increasingly longer intervals, on the day of the descending moon of the flowers, a remuage for each individual bottle was performed.
Wet-stone and rose aroma blend with notes of crushed
cherries, thyme, rosemary and elderberries. Medium-to
full-bodied with very fine, slightly tight tannins. It begins
floral, but slowly becomes more mineral and complex. A
sturdy core of red fruit grounds the palate throughout.
Bark, chicory root and dried herbs come through. Layered.
Case Bianche 2022
Made from indigenous Zibibbo clones from Messina, “Case Bianche” is a golden and bright straw yellow wine that on the nose expresses intense notes of fresh rose, peach and citrus, along with a Mediterranean scrub feel and sea spray, revealing a smooth and mineral mouthfeel, savoury and with a persistent freshness.
Hand harvested at the end of August in small 10kg crates, the grapes go through a careful selection before a cold maceration for 18 hours. The must will be gently pressed and fermentation takes place in barriques. The wine is also aged for another 3 months in 225 liter new and used barriques. Further aging in bottle takes place before the wine is released.
