Description

The Region

The Millahue Valley is situated within the Cachapoal Valley, which itself is part of the larger Rapel Valley wine region in central Chile. It is located to the west of the Andes Mountains and benefits from a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and cool ocean breezes from the nearby Pacific Ocean.

It’s characterized by diverse soils, including alluvial and colluvial soils, which contribute to the region’s unique terroir. The valley’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains also plays a role in creating different microclimates within the region.

The Winery

Viña VIK is a renowned winery located in the Millahue Valley, Chile. It is known for producing high-quality wines in a state-of-the-art facility and vineyards situated in a picturesque setting in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Viña VIK is notable for its commitment to producing premium wines and its dedication to art, architecture, and sustainability.

The Wine

Holism and the pursuit of excellence go hand in hand. The VIK “A” concept reflects the terroir’s will to express each variety in a place that is itself unique! These plots reveal the pure expression of Carmenère from Millahue, with its joyfully deep colour & cobalt hues that seduce the gaze. Its elegant aromas gift black fruit like blackberries & plums & spicy notes that together generate a sound in the imagination that goes beyond pleasure to become transcendent.

The mouth delivers fine-grained, rounded tannins & body that is expressive & abundant without being heavy. Meanwhile the acidity lends dynamism.
The Cabernet Sauvignon, like a good friend, provides structure & tension to the mouth, while on the nose red fruit and spices complement the wine’s layers of flavours, delivering complexity & elegance.

Ideal serving temperature 16ºC.
