Description

Spätburgunder Réserve 2018

A wonderful contrast to the Estate Wine, this Réserve presents darker fruit, more spice, a more thoughtful character, and more power – despite the moderate alcohol. Black cherry and blackberry couple with cocoa and some black liquorice, there is plenty of spice and the tannins are grippy, though fine. Well-balanced and good length, with a youthful character throughout. The wine will reward a few years of cellaring, but is also a delightful partner for roasted meats on a warm summer evening.

Cuatro del Cuatro 2020

Viña Zorzal Cuatro del Cuatro is a tribute to our father, Antonio, the man who created our Brand. A singular wine which embodies the character, identity and expression of the Graciano grape: a varietal that fascinated Sanz throughout his life. The wine is an attempt to transmit all the power and passion that has driven Viña Zorzal throughout the years. Very limited production from 40-year-old vines in Corella.

2019 was a historic vintage. The grapes were picked with an impeccable sanitary state, with pH lower than normal. Despite being a dry vintage, the rainy days were very well distributed and the vineyard did not suffer water stress. During the harvest, the temperatures were very mild, and this helped even more to that sanitary state that has impressed so much. As a negative point, a considerable production reduction compared to the previous year. Hand harvesting of the best bunches of the Corella Graciano in 8kg crates. Alcoholic fermentation, with native yeasts, in 500 litre French, oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation and ageing for 12 months in two-year old, 300 litre French, oak barrels. Gentle clarification and filtration without stabilization.

Clear, bright, mid-intensity garnet colour with an intense forest fruit and red fruit aromas with hints of earthiness and spice. Palate is dry and fresh with marked acidity. Broad and balanced, full and meaty with flavours of forest fruit and spice, some attractive bitterness and green notes, characteristic of this grape variety. A wine with minerality and distinctive character. Persistent on the palate. Pairs well with meaty pies, pastas, pulses, cured meats and charcuterie and any type of grilled meat. Serve at 14-16ºC.

La Gazette 2022

The other wine to be made by the Domaine back in 2014 even before it was inaugurated. A blend of  50% Syrah, 25% Grenache & 25% Carignan with a stainless steel fermentation & 20% of the blend aged in oak barrels with the remaining 80% in concrete vats for a year before bottling. Garnet colour on appearance with a nose full of red & black fruit, spices & light oak. Fresh on the palate with more spice & red fruits with fine tannins and a robust structure. Ideal marriage with red meats such as spicy lamb dishes of lamb & duck. Serve at 15°C.

Demuerte Deluxe 2020

A velvety Monastrell in the company of Petit Verdot & Syrah which is a luxurious, mature, yet spicy & evocative red. perfect for a night of glamour. Monastrell (80%), Petit Verdot (10%) & Syrah (10%) all coming from old vines of over 60 years old with a generous balanced yield. Coming from Mediterranean-continentalized climate with its arid & harsh environment of very cold winters, and extremely hot summers. Planted on limestone with a thick subsoil with the presence of carbonates and a sandy surface with clay formations which are poor in organic matter but quite healthy and permeable.

Manual late harvest, in 20 kg boxes, intended to take care of the integrity of each grape, preventing it from being damaged (even from its own weight). Following a very artisinal process, only the very best bunches are selected for this wine. Fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks at 24 degrees Celsius and macerated for 21 days before its malolactic conversion. Aging is done in French Allier oak barrels for a minimum period of 18 months. Appearance is intense with a cherry red colour. Nose is elegant & reminiscent of ripe red fruit on a base of smoked spices with a velvety and delicate palate upon tasting. Serve at 16-18ºC. Certified Vegan.

Golerga 2020

Lerga used to be a village of historic importance for Garnacha from Navarra. Sadly, almost all of the vineyards have long disappeared. Fate smiled upon us when we met Gonzalo, whose family has been heroic in caring for these old parcels instead of abandoning them. We feel a responsibility to interpret everything that these incredible vines have experienced through this wine and are excited to share it. Long live Lerga, GO LERGA!

It is a complex vintage, marked by a spring with higher temperatures than normal and above all, with very high relative humidity for a long time so there was a high risk for fungi attack such as mildew, which needs very specific conditions for their development. In our case, the early strategy worked very well, there was an extra effort in the vineyard management, It was a year of being very aware in the vineyard every day with the final result of a very fresh and good vintage. Blend of the different Garnacha plots from Lerga village. Fermentation in concrete vats, ageing in concrete vats and 500-liters French oak barrels (2 years used).

Clear appearance with medium intensity & ruby colour wine. High intensity nose with fresh aromas of black fruit such us blackberry, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar and earthy notes. Palate is dry and fresh, with soft tannins and a medium body, black fruit flavours, mineral hints and a long finish. Ideal accompaniment for cured ham, stews, game and meat dishes. Serve at a temperature between 16 º and 18 ºC.

Göttlesbrunn Noble Valley 2020

“Typical Göttlesbrunn style! dark ruby-garnet red with youthful reflection, black berries in the nose, some orange zest, dark and juicy, well integrated roasted aromas on the palate, well balanced, full bodied and concentrated ripe tannin.” Coming from Hagelsberg & Schüttenberg vineyards around Göttlesbrunn with a gravely loess, loamy loess and pure gravel soils. Holzweg & Hagelsberg bring a ripe and typical Zweigelt with lively character. The Merlot grape brings depth and a full-bodied palate, and to complete this wonderful blend some Syrah is added to bring spice and complexity. Enjoy with beef (loin, T-Bone-Steak, Roastbeef), lamb, venison (in a heavy sauce), chicken in red-wine, cheese, nuts – but also ideal for thoughtful hours without a meal. Ideal drinking temperature 18° Celsius.
