The name “Vinho Verde” means “green wine,” referring to the youthful, often slightly effervescent character of the wines. Vinho Verde wines are typically white or rosé and are made from indigenous grape varieties like Alvarinho and Loureiro. Quinta de Soalheiro is a prominent winery located in the sub-region of Melgaço within the Vinho Verde wine region. It is renowned for its production of high-quality Alvarinho wines. The played a significant role in elevating the status of Alvarinho wines from the Vinho Verde region.
