Rosé is a wine that has a pink or light salmon color. It is made from a variety of red & sometimes also white grape varieties, but unlike red wine, the grape skins are only left in contact with the juice for a short period, typically a few hours to a couple of days at most. This limited skin contact imparts the characteristic pink hue to the wine.

Rosé can be made from various red & white grape varieties, each contributing its own unique characteristics. I stock rosé wines made from popular varieties but also some which are more off the beaten path. Alvarinho, Touriga Nacional, Pinot Noir, Nocera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah (Shiraz), Caladoc, Cabernet Franc, Monastrell (Mourvèdre), Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Carignan and Cinsault. Different grape varieties contribute to variations in flavor profiles and styles of rosé.
